Lucky Daye, Smino and Baby Rose Are Coming to Joburg

It's official, Once Upon A Time in Joburg is bringing Lucky Daye, Smino and Baby Rose to the city of gold on 5 December 2026, taking over the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens in Emmarentia for a day celebrating R&B, neo-soul and the culture around it.

The lineup brings together three artists with distinct sounds, from Lucky Daye's contemporary R&B and Smino's genre-blending approach to Baby Rose's soulful, unmistakable vocals. For fans of R&B and neo-soul, this is another opportunity to experience some of the artists shaping the sound of the genre live in Johannesburg.

Since launching in 2024, Once Upon A Time in Joburg has built a space for R&B and neo-soul lovers, bringing international acts including Xavier Omär, GoldLink, DVSN and SiR to South African audiences. Curated by Doctor Bird Productions, the festival has carved out its identity around the artists, sounds and catalogues that resonate with R&B fans.

The December edition will mark the second time Once Upon A Time in Joburg takes place in Johannesburg this year, giving fans another chance to close out 2026 with a live music experience centred on the genre.
