Flying Fish Says Goodbye to Summer 

Summer isn’t over until Flying Fish says it is. The Goodbye Summer event is back, bringing one final send-off to the warmest season of the year and if everything they’ve been building toward is anything to go by, this edition is set to be a big one.

Taking place at Old Park Station on 11 April 2026, Goodbye Summer promises a full day of music, drinks, and vibes, the kind of experience Flying Fish has become known for.

Over the past year, Flying Fish has been hosting a series of smaller, curated events called the Surprisingly Good Series, intimate DJ sets held in unexpected spaces like airport hangars, plant nurseries, castles and coffee shops across the country. Featuring some of the hottest DJs in South Africa, these sessions have created a unique atmosphere and showcased Flying Fish’s approach to music and culture. The sets are available to watch on their YouTube channel and have been building anticipation for what’s coming next.

That’s exactly why Goodbye Summer feels like the grand finale, the moment where everything comes together on a much bigger scale. From the music lineup to the overall experience, there’s real excitement around what surprises Flying Fish has planned this time.

Last year’s Goodbye Summer set the bar high. The event was hosted in partnership with Pantone Sundays, bringing together two strong brands for a memorable end-of-season celebration. Beyond the music and atmosphere, Flying Fish also introduced a cultural collaboration by partnering with Kasi Flavour and designing custom Flying Fish soccer jerseys (I still have mine and will be wearing it to this year’s event), this collaboration blended street culture, fashion, and music into the overall experience.

With the momentum of the Surprisingly Good Series behind them, expectations are high and the mystery around the lineup and experiences only adds to the excitement.
