We waited… she's finally pulling up.
Born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, Doja Cat has South African roots through her father, Durban-born actor and film producer Dumisani Dlamini, making this a long-overdue homecoming moment for local fans. Over the years she’s embraced that connection publicly, which makes her first major performance in Mzansi feel less like a tour stop and more like a return.
From viral beginnings with Mooo! to chart-dominating hits like Say So, Kiss Me More and Paint The Town Red, Doja Cat has built a catalogue that blends rap, pop and R&B into some of the most recognisable songs of the past decade, the kind you don’t just listen to, you know bar-for-bar.
About Global Citizen’s Move Afrika
Move Afrika is Global Citizen’s initiative tackling inequality by creating job and entrepreneurship opportunities for Africa’s emerging generations through an annual series of live music events.
Showcasing the best of Africa to the world, the events drive investment into local communities while engaging local artists, vendors, agencies and crews, and providing hands-on skills development opportunities.
The 2025 edition drove a citizen-led advocacy campaign championing sustainable development and economic growth, with a strong focus on strengthening health systems across the continent.
